DESCRIPTION:The Chamber Women's Group is a group of like-minded women who desire to make a greater connection to help each other grow their businesses and resources. We meet the third Thursday of each month. Women Helping Women Succeed! I previously worked as a High School Health Teacher for three years and have been working as a Prevention Educator with an emphasis in Drug Prevention for over 12 years in Florida\, Illinois and now currently in the St. Louis Area. \n\nI currently work at an amazing place called PreventEd. My days consist of going into Middle and High School classrooms sharing evidence-based information about various drug topics. We also have educators that talk with K-5 students about Life Skills\, helping them to build a foundation for healthy choices as they grow up.\n\nAnother part of my job is through PreventEd's counseling department. It is a Program called "GuidEd"\, where I teach various workshops to Middle/high School students who participate in our substance misuse counseling services.\n\nI'm also Co-Director of an annual Leadership Camp called Teen Institute (T.I.). Since 1980\, we have recruited area high school students to participate in this powerful camp that equips high school students to prevent substance misuse among their peers and communities while also cultivating leadership skills.
