DESCRIPTION:The Kirkwood Des Peres Area Chamber of Commerce will host our 7th Annual Economic Outlook Breakfast by partnering with nearby Chambers of Commerce Affton-Lemay\, Creve Coeur-Olivette\, Fenton\, Southwest Area\, and Webster Groves/Shrewsbury/Rock Hill Area. This event has become an important forum providing timely economic forecasting\, allowing your firm and other professionals to understand what the future holds. \n\n \n\nOur program this year\, "The Science of Growth: The Economic Value of AgTech"\, will highlight the position St. Louis serves in the expanding field of agriculture technology. With St. Louis as home to some of the largest multi-national agriculture companies\, Missouri as one of the leading producers of agricultural products\, and the Region home to nationally recognized university programs in agriculture and agriculture research\, St. Louis has become a magnet for AgTech wealth\, resources\, and investment. Our event will provide an overview of this emerging economic sector. The sector has the potential to completely reshape global agriculture\, dramatically increasing the productivity of the agriculture system while reducing the environmental and social costs of current ag production practices.
