Luncheon Speaker: Roberta McWoods
Luncheon Topic: How diversity strengthens teams. What tomorrow's employees are learning by participating in KHS Track & Field
Brief Speaker Bio: Roberta McWoods is a 37-year educator in the Kirkwood School District. Roberta received a Bachelor of Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Masters in Elementary Education with a Certification in Reading from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. In the 1992-93 school year, Roberta was named the Kirkwood School District teacher of the year. She retired in 2014 as a Literacy Specialist from North Glendale Elementary and became the Master Mentor for Teachers of Color in 2018.
Roberta uses sports to transcend the cultural differences of her athletes to galvanize them in achieving a common goal of unity both on and off the field. She built a coaching staff of amazing assistants that have contributed to the team’s enduring success. These accomplishments have garnered Kirkwood five Final 4 top finishes in the State of Missouri, multiple individual state champions, in addition to countless sectional, district, and conference titles and athletes. Roberta was inducted into the Missouri Track & Cross-Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2014, where she was also the first woman to serve on their board and was later named President of the Association. Roberta also served on the Missouri State High School Activities Association advisory board and has recently become a member of the National Federation of High School Sports rules committee for Track & Field. In 2020, Roberta was named Coach of the Year by Missouri State High School Activities Association through the National Federation of High School Sports.
Roberta has been married for 29 years and has two adult children. She also serves as a church Lector and is an active member on their Outreach Committee and Board member for her church.

The cost for Non-Members and walk-ins is $35. Fruit & Veggie plates MUST be requested by 3 pm the Friday before the Luncheon. Late requests cannot be accommodated.
Luncheon Menu: Mixed Greens with Cranberries, Gorgonzola, Candied Pecans and Honey Lime Vinaigrette Dressing. Sautéed Boneless Breast of Chicken Picatta, Red Skinned Mashed Potatoes, Shaved Brussel Sprouts, and Lemon Bistro Cake for dessert.
